Ayurveda, an ancient Indian medical science, includes a component that describes how music can treat a wide range of physical and mental conditions. We refer to this particular application method as raga chikitsa or raga therapy.  Several Indian musicians from classical traditions and researchers have devoted their lives to examining and using this type of music therapy, even though it is not commonly practiced .Indian music is primarily about producing distinct feelings and sensations in the listener's mind, body, and soul, therefore it should come as of little surprise that this type of music is particularly well-suited for therapeutic application. Raagas can be divided based on the prevailing rasa or sentiment they evoke as well as the best time to perform them. Contemporary practitioners of the Raga therapy, drawn from both Hindustani and Carnatic customs and heritage, research the therapeutic benefits of performing various ragas for people with either mental or physical ailments. Many claim that the connection between particular notes and vibrations and the chakras—the body's 7 spiritual centers—is what causes a raga's tangible effects. Similar to ragas, every chakra has a particular color as well as a set of characteristics that go along with it.
